Chinese appetite benefits Latin America

Premium Latin American producers are benefiting from China’s growing appetite for imported foods, according to Xinhua.

In the past four months alone, a total of 45,000 tons of Uruguayan beef was sold by various brands in China. And demand for other produce is growing be they Mexican avocados, Chilean salmon fillets or Argentinian wine.

The International Labor Organization reported that over the past two decades, China’s trade and investment in the region has created 1.8 million jobs.
