Managing director of Swisse Oliver Horn is eyeing a one day China sales injection of $2 million plus alone from the aggressive step-up in China.
Swisse generates around half of its total sales from the Chinese market, and from large volumes of vitamins bought from Australian retailers such as Chemist Warehouse. which are then sold into China by private entrepreneurs selling on their own online sites.
Swisse holds about 20 per cent of the Australian vitamins market, while big ASX-listed rival Blackmores has a similar market share but the China market in vitamins is a much bigger prize, with the China vitamins market worth an annual $20 billion.
